Collaborate
Skype has been a revolutionary tool in our organization. It connected us with Govinda for the first time, and continues to connect them with other schools worldwide. We use the web to create opportunities for learning and cultural exchange with students and teachers around the world.
Example of project for collaboration: A Day in the Life
Published my Microsoft, this project was originally used to partner with HIP in Kenya. If you’d like to do a project like this, we will pair you with our school in Nepal. Reach out to get started!
Classroom Projects
Connect with a classroom abroad and make a difference. There are many ways to provide a cultural experience for your students or staff.
We will tailor this partnership to meet your needs.
A Day in the Life:
use the google slides project we’ve created to compare your student’s daily life, to the students in Nepal. Practice comparing and contrasting. Use your writing time to research more about Nepal or write a reflection on what students learned.
Then you could pair it with…
Fundraisers:
Learn about the school and their needs, then come up with a goal to raise money to support their education, clean water, lunch program, etc.
Ideas: sell jeans day passes at school/work, baked sale, book sale, donation jar (and offer to match it!), art sale (have your students make something and sell their goods!), spirit week at school/work (people pay $1 to wear PJs, bring a favorite toy, have an extra long lunch, etc.), lemonade stand, pancake breakfast, rock paper scissors tournament, etc. Or completely come up with your own ideas! If you’re working with students, have them brainstorm.
Group learning experiences:
Learn about the school in Nepal, Tripur Kinder Academy. Then brainstorm questions you’d like to know more about! We can work on connecting you with school director, Govinda Panthy, so you can ask your questions!
Want to work with another school in the USA? We can help pair you with a school for a Mystery Skype session and discussion with another classroom! You could even work together to learn more or fundraise for Tri KA in Nepal.
Your impact
$15/ month roughly sponsors a student’s monthly education. This $15 helps cover a student’s fees who would otherwise be going to school without giving money to the school.
$6/ week covers a student’s lunch
Crazily enough, about $1000 is all it would take to get the land behind the school rented out (it then would be $125 a year after that). This would allow the school to start a garden/playground, we were going to call this a “health program”. This would be an awesome goal to pair with another classroom, another school, or the community to make this happen!
$50 helps provide teacher bonuses, so they are getting paid a fair wage.
Other donations can go toward: Sawyer water filters & buckets for clean water, the school lunch program, proper internet access and access to online materials, and more.
