Past Success
WPSD student Cheyenne Becker led an effort to collect school supplies in 2019. Cheyenne collected a tub of supplies and donations through the Spring of 2020. Cheyenne’s efforts as a middle schooler helped bring a new playground to Twinsbright in 2022. This fall, they told us about their dream of having a library in their community. This gave us a new mission.
Kenya Read Project
We are three students from Woodland Park School District, and we had a dream to bring a library to a school in Kenya. We have made some awesome 3d prints and are selling other cool items to help raise money for this project. We have made keychains, bookmarks, buttons, and more to raise money for the library. We have been going into our steam lab to work every day on this project. We are partnered with a school called Twinsbright from Eldoret, Kenya. WPMS has worked with Twinsbright on various projects since 2019. Twinsbright has a dream to bring a library for their students and the orphans in their community!
We recently had a showcase at our school and we had a stand-up for students and families to view. We talked all about our progress and our mission and we received over 50 dollars in donations! This made us very excited and we were hopeful that we could get this done. We have been working very hard and using our free time to come in and work on this project. We are 3d printing items and we are making posters and paintings so that we can raise money to help reach our dreams. With your help, we can build this library and give kids access to all sorts of amazing books and all types of genres that they have never been exposed to.
